Start your day off the right way with a hearty breakfast and a side of hipster. Yes, that’s pesto, and yes, it’s delicious. Delta of Venus provides an escape from the “normal” foodie experience, with vegan options galore. It’s a Davis staple. Why are you still reading this? Go! Delta of Venus is located at 122 B St. in Davis.

Dare to walk on the spicy side? Rice noodles stir-fried with bell peppers, green beans, basil, and Thai chili. This restaurant is bursting with flavor, literally! Find Thai Canteen at 117 E St., Davis.

Uncle Vito’s doesn’t just specialize in pizza… Let me introduce you to fry-dreamland. Sweet, spicy, and deeeelicious (extra “e’s” for the extra goodness). If you know what’s good, you’ve gotta go! You can’t have just one; who’s counting anyway? Find Uncle Vito's at 524 Second St., Davis.

A chocolate lover’s delight. Fellas, the perfect go-to when trying to win a gal’s heart. Ladies… Who needs a fella when you can win over your own heart with this sweet treat? Don’t say I didn’t warn you. Find Sweet and Shavery at 210 E St., Davis.

Who said you can’t have your dessert first? This quaint shop is a great place to study or catch up with friends. At Mishkas, you can have your coffee and dessert too! With the aroma of freshly baked goodies, who can resist? I’m not usually a fan of pumpkin, but this cobbler surprised me, so much so that I snuck a bite before taking the picture… I have no regrets, though. Mishkas is located at 610 Second St. in Davis.

6. Mixed Shwarma | Sam’s Mediterranean Cuisine

It’s almost dinner time… Grab a bite at Sam’s! Every item on the menu is a winner, winner, Arab dinner. Check it out, but just be sure to carry cash! Just a hop, skip, and jump away from campus! Note that Sam's moved to the corner of Second and B in late 2015.

The tasty train is nearing its last stop, and I’m signing off. Here’s a sweet delight to end the night. Brick toast: thick toast smothered in sweetened butter. It’s crunchy, sweet, and soft; easily satisfies a group of four… Or one. Find Lazi Cow at 407 G St. #4, behind Western Feed and Pet Supply.
